It’s FAFSA Time in Memphis!

Over the course of the next couple of months, you’ll be seeing a big push in Memphis to assist high school seniors and adult learners in filling out a FAFSA. The FREE FAFSA form is located at fafsa.ed.gov and is required in order to secure financial aid for post-secondary education. If you require any sort of financial aid that is not in the form of a scholarship or a private loan, you must complete the FAFSA by February 15.

It’s important to know what you need in order to complete the FAFSA form. You must have your (or your parents’, if they are assisting you) tax information from 2014. You must also have a PIN, which you can secure from pin.ed.gov. The PIN is what a student uses to sign the FAFSA electronically. Finally, you need your Social Security Number or, if applicable, your Alien Registration Number. If you’re uncertain about your tax information, the FAFSA site offers an IRS Data Retrieval Tool.

Once you are equipped with these tools, simply fill it out and file it electronically. If you need extra help, Graduate Memphis’ College Resource Center is available. Our education advisors can help you with any questions. The library also has multiple computer labs for you to use if you do not have a computer or Internet access at home.

Additionally, multiple resources for students have been established at fafsamemphis.com. The site will be regularly updated and operated by the Memphis Talent Dividend.

Good luck! You’re a future graduate now.
