The Step Ahead Scholarship is a partnership between BankTennessee, the Step Ahead Foundation, and Girls, Inc. that is to further the two agencies’ missions to encourage the educational advancement and leadership development of young women in the Memphis area.

$100,000 is available and the awards will be dispersed in minimums of $2,000. Women ages 17 – 30 are eligible, so long as they are a Shelby County resident and attending an accredited post-secondary institution. Women must be pursuing a career in medicine, public health, social services, or cosmetology. Preference will be given to applicants with the expressed intention of using their education to help the greater Memphis community and the desire to lower rates of teen and unintended pregnancy in the area. Women can also use the scholarship for graduate studies!
